Can a Veteran go to any VA hospital while traveling?
Veterans can continue their VA health care in a different location while traveling. To notify VA of your upcoming travel, call your local VA facility and ask for your VA Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT). Notifying VA 4-6 weeks in advance of travel is preferred to ensure seamless care.

How do I get a referral from the VA?

How do I apply for VA travel?
To submit a claim, Visit AccessVA, select submit a travel claim, and logon using a DS Log on Level 2 account. A DS Logon is an ID issued by DoD that will allows Veterans and caregivers to access many VA and DoD sites with one user username and password.

You may select any VA facility that is convenient for you. If the facility you choose cannot provide the health care that you need, VA will make other arrangements for your care based on administrative eligibility and medical necessity.
