Meet Our Board

The Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia, Inc. Board is represented by seven leaders with various professional backgrounds.  All are committed to Charity, all work to encourage support from our Georgia membership of over 18,000 knights, private businesses, corporations and individual donors.  Please take a few minutes and look at their following bio’s.  You may know one or more of them.  You may want to contact one to renew an acquaintance or simply to make a donation.  In any event, all board members would welcome your emails and be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Brad Burnett
President, Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia, Inc.

 

Brad has been an active member in the Knights of Columbus since 2000.  He belongs to council #7923 in Lilburn, GA, where he has held various positions including Grand Knight.  He is also active in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Fourth Degree and is current Marshall for the state of Georgia. Brad has served at the state level holding the office of District Deputy and he is the current Council Director of the Georgia State Council.


For the past several years, Brad has been associated with Wreaths Across America, which is a national organization that honors our military by placing Christmas wreaths on the gravesites of our veterans.

 

Brad is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative and owner of Freedom Financial Services, LLC. He resides in Suwanee, Georgia with his wife Alyene. They have two married daughters and one granddaughter who also reside in the area.

Mark Corrigan
State Deputy, Knights of Columbus of Georgia

Mark joined the Army in 1972 during the final years of America’s involvement in Viet Nam.  He retired from the Army after 22 years as a Special Operations Blackhawk Pilot in the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). 

After retirement he returned to school to complete a Bachelor Degree in Business & MBA training from Saint Leo University & Georgia Southern University respectively.  He made it his goal to become a Knight as soon as he completed college.  In 1997 he became a First Degree Knight in Council 631 & advanced to Fourth Degree in Assembly 173 within 18 months.  Since becoming a knight Mark held several positions including Family Committee Chairman, Pro Life Chairman, and Editor of his council’s News Letter (The Compass).  He also served as council Treasurer, Chancellor, Deputy Grand Knight & Grand Knight where he attained Star Council along with winning the Georgia State Youth Award.  He was appointed District One Deputy immediately following his year as Grand Knight in 2003.  He was re-elected as Grand Knight (one of only 3 in the 116 year history of his council) in 2007 for the express purpose of supervising a $200,000.00 renovation of the Council Home.  Mark also served as Assembly 173 Scribe, Captain and Faithful Navigator as well as a member of the Assembly’s Color Guard.  Mark is a member of Council 631's First Degree Team and a former member of the State’s Third Degree Team. 

In 2008 Mark was elected to the Board of Directors of the Columbian Charities of Georgia (currently named “Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia”) where he served as the Vice President/Recording Secretary.

Mark’s Community service includes, educator at South University with the School of Computer Science, community outreach program in partnership with the FBI to educate Parents of the dangers of the Internet and children and the Chairman of the Coastal Workforce Investment Board. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Small Business Assistance Corporation of Savannah, a Non Profit, small business lending institution. He currently serves as the treasurer of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1943, Past President of the Savannah Friendly Son’s of Saint Patrick, Past Adjutant of the Savannah Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, and member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.  As a parishioner of Saint Frances Cabrini in Savannah Mark served on the Stewardship Committee as well as Chairman of the School Committee and parish Lecturer. He is currently a parishioner of the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Savannah.

Mark’s desire to serve is a culmination of over 30 years of dedication to his Country, his faith, and the Knights of Columbus.  He serves the members of the Knights of Columbus of Georgia and continues to build our State into a driving force in the Order.

Mark W. Hofmann

Mark  attended Seminole Community College where he majored in Communications.  In the early ‘90s, Mark was hired as Regional Manager by People’s Telephone, the world’s largest payphone company; he was transferred from Orlando to Atlanta in the fall of 1993. In 1996, they founded Starfire Automatic Gates & Security; their successful fabrication, gate automation, security and access control “family owned & operated” business.  They have earned the “Award of Excellence” from Chamberlain Professional Products as top vendor for the last seven years.

 

Mark married his wife Mickie in 1989; they have two grown sons, Chris and GW – both graduates of Florida State University and managers with the family business.

 

In the Knights of  Columbus, Mark has held positions as Grand Knight, District Deputy and currently is the State Secretary. While Mark was Grand Knight of Council 12984 for two years, his council earned the coveted Star Council award under his leadership. He is now a proud and faithful Charter 4th degree member of the Larry Deraney Assembly 3064, served as Charter Faithful Navigator, Admiral, Color Corps member and currently serves the elective office of Purser.

Ron Rigby
State Executive Secretary, Knights of Columbus of Georgia

Ron and his wife of 39 years, Patricia, live in Conyers and are members of St. Pius X Catholic Church and avid supporters of The Monastery of the Holy Spirit. Joining the Knights in 1989 he is a charter member of Council #10004 and Assembly #3085 having served in all positions. Ron has served the State as District Deputy, State Raffle Chairman, State Membership Chairman, and was appointed State Executive Secretary in 2008. He is a member of the Council First Degree Team, the District Second Degree Team, and was certified in four positions on the old State Third Degree Team.

Ron graduated from SUNY at Alfred in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration and also attended a semester of college in Bogota, Columbia, S.A. in 1967 as an exchange student. Ron had two distinctly different careers, spending 12 years in the fast food business; as a restaurant manager, District Manager for eight restaurants, project manager for 29 restaurants, and Region Maintenance Manager for 105 restaurants in the Southeast. He then spent 22 years in the cabinet industry retiring from Masco in 2009 where his duties included builder sales, Sales Manager for the Atlanta Merrilat Distribution Center, and Business Development Manager for the Masco Builder Cabinet Group in parts of six Southeastern states.

Ed O'Connor
Secretary, Knights of Columbus Charities of Georgia, Inc.

Ed has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 2006; he is Past Grand Knight for Council 12862 Newnan, GA. He is the current District Deputy for District 19 covering five councils in Coweta and Fayette Counties. He has also served the state council as past Church Director and Chairman of the RSVP program.  The RSVP program coordinates both financial and moral support for young men and woman in formation for religious life.  He is also the Charter Purser for his Fourth Degree assembly 3199.

 

Ed is employed by Delta Airlines as a Sr. Coordinator for Repair Engines.

He resides in Sharpsburg, GA with his wife Fran; they have 3 children and a grandson and granddaughter.
