Military Heroes programs Overview

Overview

The Knights of Columbus  started working with the military and veterans in 1916 .  From the very beginning, Our support exemplifies our commitment to the military members, their families and our veterans . Our dedication to assist in their needs through  our Military Heroes programs that support Military Chaplain Scholarships, Wheelchairs for Veterans , Frontline Faith, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and other Veteran programs demonstrate our deep appreciation for the great work done by the Military  and their families.

The military Heroes programs include the following:

  • Military Chaplain Scholarship helps to fund the education of seminarians preparing to become Catholic chaplains in the U.S. military.

  • Wheelchairs for Veterans benefits veterans  who have been denied mobility and cannot afford a wheelchair on their own.

  • Frontline Faith distributes compact MP3 players, preloaded with Christian content, to members of our Armed Forces on the Frontlines.

  • Military Order of the Purple Heart honors the sacrifice that veterans made for our country by helping them make a smooth transition from the battlefield to the home land.

  • Veterans programs provides support by participating in veterans events and by visiting veterans centers  and hospitals.

  • Wreaths Across America funds programs to Remember, Honor, and Teach, in part by coordinating wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington, as well as veterans’ cemeteries in Georgia and other locations in all 50 states.
